Qualification in Agriculture, Biotechnology, Plant Science, Marketing, or Business with proven sales or business development experience within agritech, life sciences, or related agricultural sectors. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively across South Africa.
POSITION INFO:
An agricultural diagnostics laboratory is looking for a driven and dynamic Sales Representative to join their team. The duties include, but are not limited to: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the agricultural sector. Visit client sites (farms, nurseries, and research facilities) regularly to strengthen relationships and showcase our diagnostic services. Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets. Maintain strong communication with existing clients to ensure continued satisfaction and uphold our client retention rate. Prepare and deliver professional presentations and proposals to potential clients. Manage client accounts, from initial contact through to service delivery and follow-up. Collaborate with internal laboratory and operations teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and support. Keep accurate sales records, client notes, and reports using CRM or internal systems. Attend agricultural expos, industry events, and networking opportunities to promote the company. Provide regular reports and updates to the Directors and business development team.
Key Requirements: Qualification in Agriculture, Biotechnology, Plant Science, Marketing, or Business. Proven sales or business development experience, ideally within agritech, life sciences, or related agricultural sectors. Experience working with cultivators, nurseries, or agricultural input suppliers essential. Understanding of molecular testing or plant health diagnostics will beneficial. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively across South Africa.
