• Lead of the production and technical team by setting performance standards and educating on managing product quality.
• Optimise plant and equipment utilisation, liaising with the maintenance team to ensure delivery of prescribed service and maintenance strategy.
• Liaise with support stakeholders for proper service delivery.
  Monitor the production performance of concentrator processes (crushing, milling & flotation) on a daily basis and ensuring that production targets are met.
• Continuously focus on process improvement to meet production targets and customer expectations.
• Assist with the creation of managing change process and ensuring continuous update for risk assessment when required.
• Ensure team compliance to SHEQ standards and operational licensing.
• Coordinate commissioning and optimisation projects (ore sorters and new flotation plant).
• Execute standby duties for the concentrator management after hours and weekends. 
• Review metallurgical procedures and recommend amendments as needed 
• Analyse and improve concept in the plant Continuous improvement
• Improve plant operating performance; reduce waste and delays; promote cost reductions; and achieve a high level of operating efficiency. 
• Monitor and analyse key metallurgical performance indicators of process operations and recommend corrective actions to the operations team; 
• Provide technical engineering support to projects from study phase thorough construction and commissioning. 
• Analyse all customer requirements and maintain optimal level of quality for all production activities according to the required ISO standards. 
• Physical plant inspections and quality spot checks 
• Compile and submit plant downtime reports and monthly reports 
• Review log sheets & analyse data and identify deviations
• Evaluate current and potential processing methods. 
• Provide technical support to all engineering personnel in ensuring that the engineering department provides a fully function, effective and flexible workforce 
• Train and implement company standards, policies and operating methods and procedures to all personnel including company SOPs, OSHA, safety and other regulatory requirements. 
• Participate in accident investigation processes, ensuring a safe working environment for employees and/or contractors by driving good housekeeping standards.
• Train, coach and develop team members and implement proper succession planning for the future.
• Relevant degree in chemical/ metallurgical engineering
• 5 - 8 yrs. experience within a mining environment
• At least 5 yrs. experience within a management capacity
• Able to reside in the Northern Cape on a permanent basis on disciplinary action and otherwise participate in the disciplinary action process as necessary.
