Portfolio Manager (Wealth)

Leading Wealth Manager is looking to fill a key Portfolio Manager gap. This is a broad investment role focused on research and recommendations, responsible for formulating, revising and implementing investment strategies via collective investment schemes in a multi-manager approach. The incumbent is individually accountable for investment outcomes leveraging research done by other teams.

The role is Cape Town based.

Core involvement includes:

• Design and manage investment strategies customised for financial advisors in the Discretionary Fund Management (DFM) environment.
• Perform investment research with a focus on indexation strategies and asset allocation.
• Stay informed on competitor offerings and trends in asset management.
• Monitor developments in security markets and macroeconomics.
• Liaise with tax attorneys / accountants to determine legal consequences of investment decisions.
• Assist with report backs and provides performance feedback to financial advisors.
• Responsible for directing and managing a small operations team.
• Analyse the market and looks for opportunities to develop new products and features in existing products to suit specific target markets.

The role is suited to:

• BCom / CIPM / CFP / CFA (preferential)
• 8+ years investment experience
• RE Exams required
