Position: Auto Electrician
Section: Mining Maintenance – Mobile Maintenance

Grade C2

The Auto Electrician will work as a first line maintainer on the mobile equipment fleet and will be
responsible for the required maintenance of his/her fleet of equipment.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Identifying potential hazardous areas, activities and conditions and taking the necessary
precautionary and corrective measures immediately.
• Ensuring that SHEQ standards are maintained in the area of responsibility.
• Performing maintenance tasks as assigned by the coordinator during a shift.
• Daily reporting on equipment maintenance status, stock levels and workshop infrastructure status.
• Operation of any associated equipment when required.
• Ensuring sufficient consumables, accessories and supplies are on hand.
• Willingness to work shifts and to work on Surface and Underground.
• Assisting other artisans.

• Good communication skills.
• Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent hands-on knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
• Ability to listen and act accordingly.
• Have an ability to rewire the TMM as per OEM Standard.
• Ability to plan ahead.
• Good understanding of electrical drawings and symbols.
• Ability to perform under pressure without compromising safety.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Qualified Auto Electrician.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy mobile equipment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Experience on Fermel Utility Vehicle, Macleans riggs and LHD’s will be advantageous.
• Must be able to work with SIS. /ET.
