The main purpose of this role is for the PowerBI (Dax and M-language) Finance Specialist to serve as the link between business/finance and systems.
JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION
The PowerBI (Dax and M-language) Finance Specialist will be responsible for documenting detailed user requirement specifications for management information systems and BI reports for the business. The PowerBI (Dax and M-language) Finance Specialist will be responsible for the project management of the MIS/BI developments, preparing the appropriate templates to prepare the budget and prepare and consolidate regular profit and expense forecasts. The PowerBI (Dax and M-language) Finance Specialist will also be responsible for making improvements to existing models and providing insight for the business on reporting.
EDUCATION
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- BCom Informatics/BSc Information Systems
JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- At least 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in managing a complex reporting function
- Working knowledge of PowerBI is non-negotiable
- Working knowledge of DAX and M-Language is non-negotiable
- Experience managing and maintaining data in both MI and BI teams
- Experience with PowerBI dashboard development and project management
- Experience with BI report development and implementation as well as management information reporting on a weekly/monthly basis
- Experience with developing data models for data mining and cleansing from the production database
- Experience utilizing M-language to prepare data in PowerBI and optimizing query performance
- Experience utilizing DAX to create calculated tables and measures
