POSITION INFO:
• A BSc Comp/Sci, Engineering, Math, Stats of related degree or diploma advantageous
• Microsoft BI certifications advantageous
• Exceptional communicator and self-starter/manager, as they will work with a AU and a Vietnamese team, across time zones.
• Candidate must have at least 6 years of working experience in data / data warehousing roles
• The project is managed from Australia and the business stakeholders are Australian insurance actuaries so the candidate must be able to engage at this level
• Strong ability to communicate and understand requirements over Teams calls and remote messaging is required.
• The solution is based on Microsoft Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL, so experience in building PowerBI Reports in an Azure environment is highly advantageous
• Proven experience with financial services reporting essential and Insurance background will be a strong advantage
• Ability to interpret business requirements and contribute to defining and eliciting reporting business requirements
• Understanding of insurance related data specifications such as ACORD advantageous
• Proven and current PowerBI skills:
o At least 2 to 3 years of solid PowerBI working experience
o Ability to design usable, well presented PowerBI reports
o Understanding of Dimensional Modelling – Kimball etc. and proven experience of working with data warehouse data structures
o Strong knowledge of Tabular models, PowerPivot, PowerQuery and DAX
o Strong Transact SQL skills
o Experience in pulling data from Data Warehouse SQ tables, Azure Data lake, Dataverse, Excel and flat file sources etc. advantageous
o Understanding of Paginated PowerBI / SSRS report design and development
• Experience with DataBricks, DataFactory and Azure Data Lake development advantageous but not critical
