Practice Manager / Financial Manager

Are you an experienced and driven financial professional with a background in legal. We are seeking a Practice Manager / Financial Manager to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee the financial operations and compliance functions of a well-established firm.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
Banking & Financial Platforms- Daily and strategic management of accounts across FNB, ABSA, Nedbank, and Standard Bank
- Maintain up-to-date Lexis Nexis and Lexis Nexis KYC compliance and integration
Accounting & Compliance- Manage SARS e-filing, VAT, and EMP submissions
- Full function bookkeeping and reporting through SAGE One Accounting
- Oversight of group company accounting, including lease financials
- Compilation of management accounts on a monthly basis
- Cash flow forecasting and budget preparation
- Handle debtor and creditor management, including clients, advocates, correspondents, and business creditors
- Respond to client queries and resolve invoice disputes
Payroll & HR Administration- Run payroll through SAGE Payroll Professional
- Utilize SAGE Self Help Services for staff interaction
- Oversee leave management and employee data
Practice & Legal Administration- Use of AJS for trust and business account reconciliation
- Financial tracking for conveyancing matters, including balances post-registration
- Monitor and report on incentive structures and performance tracking
- Ensure full FICA compliance for the practice and assist with audits
- Maintain FICA files and KYC processes
- Compile and present monthly marketing performance reports
Systems & Software Proficiency- Advanced user of MS Office, particularly Excel for reporting and analysis
- Comfortable with digital filing systems and legal software tools
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial management or legal practice management role
- Strong understanding of legal billing and trust accounting
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in SAGE products
- Knowledge of FICA legislation and compliance
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with clients and stakeholders
