Job Overview
A leading logistics and freight forwarding company is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pricing Controller to join their Exports & Logistics team based in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating accurate and competitive quotations for consolidated cargo movements between South Africa and key destinations in the SADC region, including Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi. This role requires a solid understanding of cross-border trade processes, export documentation, and regional regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare precise quotations for consolidated (console) cargo shipments across the SADC region.
- Collaborate with internal operations teams and external service providers to collect and validate cost inputs.
- Ensure quotations meet all applicable export regulations and specific client requirements.
- Support the export team in preparing and verifying cross-border shipment documentation.
- Monitor industry pricing trends and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for exports from South Africa and imports into SADC countries.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in an Export Controller or similar role, preferably within a freight forwarding or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of SADC cross-border procedures, including export/import documentation.
- Experience in quoting and pricing for console cargo shipments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Teams, and other MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple pricing requests under tight deadlines.
