Lead, Advise and Deliver at the Principal Level.

POSITION INFO:
A specialist public sector consulting firm, emphasizing multi-disciplinary teams and cutting-edge technology, is seeking a highly experienced Principal Accountant to take ownership of complex, high-level government and municipal finance projects.
This role is designed for a seasoned professional with deep technical expertise and leadership capability in the public sector space.

The Role:
You will operate at a strategic and advisory level, leading public sector financial engagements, ensuring compliance, and guiding project teams and clients through complex regulatory environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading high-impact public sector finance projects
Providing expert guidance on GRAP, PFMA, and municipal finance
Overseeing complex financial reporting and audit engagements
Advising senior stakeholders and executive-level clients
Mentoring and reviewing work of senior and junior finance professionals
Ensuring consistent quality, compliance, and delivery across projects

Experience & Qualifications:

CA(SA) qualification (non-negotiable)
10+ years accounting experience, with a strong public sector background
Extensive experience with GRAP, PFMA, municipal and government finance
Proven leadership and advisory capability
Comfortable operating at a strategic and consultative level
Willingness to travel when required
