Print Operator

Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow established systems, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to Health and safety regulation.
• Ensure availability of all documents prior to commencing a job including a signed sample.
• Ensure correct sleeve size is used
• Ensure that your Date code shall be printed on the product
• Ensure that the Printers Assistant loads the correct film and verify the level and position off the treatment and the unwind direction and then Printer to check final unwind.
• Use press return inks where necessary.
• Anilox rollers, print equipment, printing sleeves & plates are always clean and are the responsibility off all on shift.
• Run the job to completion, documenting the ins and output weights.
• Complete production documentation regarding the job number, start, stop, downtimes, weights, and requirements for the scaling and Megasoft inputs.
• On completion off the job ensure wash up is complete, all sleeves are removed from the press and prepare next job.
• Read and understand job instructions.
• Produce quality printing on the correct substrate.
• Produce production at optimum machine speed.
• Document production.
• Housekeeping.
• Report problems to Management.

Requirements

• Matric
• Must be computer literate
• Must be able to speak, read and write English
• Must have Worked in a similar environment previously.
• Must have worked on a Flexographic CI Printing press for at least 5 Years.
• Must not be colour-blind
• Must be able to work weekend and shifts

Skills

• Must be hands on and mechanical adaptive
• Must be able to read and understand a printing artwork
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Must understand printing terminology and how to fix flexographic problems that may arise in a working environment.
• Ambitious: Desire to advance to higher job levels with active efforts toward self-development for advancement
• Attention to detail: Thoroughness, clarity, and accuracy in completing tasks
• Adaptability: Maintains effectiveness in varying environments and with varying tasks, responsibilities, or people
