SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, our client is seeking a Digital Textile Print Manager.

POSITION INFO:

You will be required to ensure the quality of printed products and to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency through effective management of the Digital and Textile print process and all its resources including labour, raw materials and equipment. Manage the successful Digital and Textile Print Production flow, ensuring that all aspects of print production are carried out and ensure the availability of well-maintained equipment and the provision of a safe environment.

 

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience in a Digital print environment
  • Experience in a Textile print environment
  • Knowledge of printing processes and machinery
  • Good colour vision required, apply colour management skills
  • Understanding and applying print systems and workflow procedures
  • Must have a good eye for colour to be able to pass any job on any machine
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations
  • Microsoft Office
  • Pre-media programmes
  • Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, managers
  • Good communication skills
  • Customer-focused

 

Key Result Areas

  • Facilitates efficient production and minimises downtime by ensuring that all materials, inks and sundries are at the machine before printing.
  • Must be able to do print and mechanical troubleshooting, ie to assist on the machine with problems
  • Ensures optimum usage and consumption of consumables.
  • Monitor production output to the production schedule to meet customer requirements
  • Implement improvement initiatives to reduce waste to within budget levels
  • Monitor production processes and workflow throughout the factory to constantly improve productivity and efficiency
  • Provide management with weekly and monthly reports
  • Assist in QA with the passing of jobs to prevent rejections and minimise downtime
  • Manage and monitor production efficiencies to ensure set targets and waste reduction
  • Manage production equipment through maintenance of existing equipment, establishing new equipment requirements and installation of new equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to all Health and Safety aspects as the OHSA
  • Attend daily production planning meetings to facilitate the workflow in the print department.
  • Strives for continuous improvement by reviewing and reporting on downtime, efficiency, quality, waste, labour costs and maintenance
