SUMMARY:

Our client, one of the largest international oil and gas organisations, is seeking a Process Automation Facilities Planning Engineer to work within the Automation and Power Division.

POSITION INFO:
The purpose of the role is to conduct feasibility studies on major addition and/or upgrades to existing control systems in support of oil and gas production facilities. Perform system and economic analysis of existing and potential new control systems. Direct evaluations of major control systems as performed by others. Prepare Design Scoping Papers to define control systems operations requirement covered by capital projects. Provide technical consultation to Operating Organizations, Engineering and Project Management.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electrical or System Engineering or other related degree from an accredited university. A Professional Engineer (P.E) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration would be desirable but is not essential.
A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience, including at least ten (10) years as a specialist within process automation/control systems.
Experienced in performing economic evaluations and feasibility studies within the oil and gas industry
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to prepare budgetary reports and deliver technical presentations to Corporate Management.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assisting in the technical development and economic justification of Capital Programs and Budgets, including long range engineering studies.
Providing technical assistance in the interpretation of Saudi Arab Government directives.
Providing technical coordination during the pre-construction phase of projects which impact on facilities.
Developing feasible alternatives for individual capital programs.
Coordinating engineering feasibility studies.
Reviewing project proposals with Project Management to insure economic design and conformance with Design Basis Scope Papers.
Preparing Expenditure Requests to obtain project funding.
Conduct long-term technology roadmaps and market research related to control systems.
Prepare and make presentations to Corporate Management.
Provide full-time consultation to management and other organizations on control system issues.
Mentor the training of future Facilities Planning Specialists.
