Process Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client based in Port Elizabeth is looking for a Process Engineer to ensure process control / lean manufacturing.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12.
• ND: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 2-3 years’ experience in an automated factory environment.
• Understanding of QMS;
• Ability to utilize core tools (FMEA, control plans, SOP’s, Process Flow Diagrams)

Responsibilities

• Reporting on project process as required
• Plant utilization and throughput studies
• Cost control
• Feasibility studies on all aspects relating to processes and equipment
• Training of operators
• Maintain and enforce safety standards
• Product Quality Improvements
• Process control and Improvements
• Familiarization of company policies, Health and Safety requirements and IR status
• Statistical analysis of processes
• Keeping abreast of technology developments in the Industry
• Updating of procedures
• Ensure accuracy of BOM’s
• Excellent housekeeping standards
• Update all templates for the relevant Core Tools
• Develop and manage Core Tools for areas responsible
• Train all operational staff on the purpose of Core Tools
• Assist with problems solving and root cause analysis projects
• Assist with training of operators on use of Core Tools
• Develop and update Process Specific Checklists
• Technical projects assigned from conception to completion
• Raising, motivation and approval of Capex’s
• Compilation of NEC documents for RFQ
• Communication of project status and issues (Raising delays)
• Formal control of project related documentation (Project file, Project Charter, Project Plan, Minutes, RFQ documents, PSW’s, trial documents, change control, project handover)
• Project Execution in accordance with department’s policy
• Projects Administration duties: (PR’s, MIGO’s, order numbers, budget control, invoices and payments)
• Control of changes related scope change (tooling etc) as per change policy
• Staff deliverables: Management, control and checking; adherence to quality and target dates
• Staff Admin Duties: (Leave requests, KPI’s, performance reviews, and staff recruitment activities)
• Reporting progress of activities to Principle Engineer
• Provision of product development work aligned to departmental objectives
• Staff motivation and development (Training)
• Staff Performance and handling of discipline matters
• Ensuring quality of work is at a high standard, including the documentation thereof
• Ensuring staff are trained to company policies and procedures, adherence to company safety standards
