Process Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client, a global manufacturing concern, is currently seeking an experienced Process Engineer, who will be responsible for project management within the Product Development department, geared mainly around new product developments. Must be willing to relocate.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric.
• National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Development, testing and tooling experience.
• Advanced level of computer literacy is essential.

 Advantageous Experience:

• Experience with new and existing product Tooling.
• Understanding of new product feasibility and freight processes.
• Project management experience.
• Engineering calculations.
• Experience/knowledge of AutoCAD and SAP.

 Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure Product Development activities are done in line with necessary QS standards.
• Facilitate new product development projects.
• Full accountability to ensure design approval TI for mass production is achieved as per development schedule.
• Drive micro activities to meet project milestones.
• Review and update trial status (keep records).
• Lead problem solving and improvement plan investigations and actions.
• Improvement of trial accuracy improvement actions.
• Feasibility and capability studies on potential products.
• Liaise with various functional departments within the factory, as well as the Design team to achieve project milestones.
• Update Design team on projects status and reports.
• Data consolidation and analysis.
• Chair meetings (not limited to design reviews).
• Transfer of product to the test room and shipping to branches.
• Clear, track and report of freight package approval and costs.
• Prepare design approval TI packs.
• Spec creation and spec cell updates.
• Monitor and control all activities around new tooling.
• MES and SAP updates.
• Communicate with Head Office staff.
