Process Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client, a national manufacturing company, currently seeks an experienced Process Engineer, to monitor and control process parameters in the Production department.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical, Process or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in process engineering in the Automotive industry.
• Good working knowledge in ISO 9001:2000 and TS16949.
• Must be able to read CAD drawings.

Key Performance Areas:

Process Control:

• Monitor products processed.
• Document and issue engineering change reports.
• Ensure that all processes are capable of supporting production.
• Set-up production line standards.
• Optimise plant layout to improve material and product flow in the plant.

Production:

• Ensure correct start-up procedures are complied with and that the machinery is running at the start of the shift.
• Ensure that all reporting on machinery downtime/production is completed.
• Monitor rejects and scrap and ensure that scrap and reject targets do not exceed target.
• Assist Production Manager in adhoc projects.

Quality:

• Develop production systems to ensure product quality is maintained.

Productivity Improvements-Value Engineering:

• Implement and make suggestions on productivity improvements.
• Plan and assist production areas regarding productivity improvements.

Continuous Improvements:

• Monitor continuous improvements and make suggestions to maximise production output.

Safety:

• Ensure safe working condition and the application of safe working practices.

Maintenance:

• Ensure all planned maintenance schedules are adhered to.

Supplier Relations:

• Manage suppliers in regard to new process development, monitor delivery times, costs and quality.
