Process Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client, a national company, manufacturing moulded polyurethane products, currently seeks an experienced Process Engineer to monitor and control process parameters.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Job Requirements:

• B.Sc in Chemical Engineering or B.Tech in Analytical chemistry.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Process Engineer.
• Must have Chemicals, Polyurethane, Blends Processes experience/knowledge.
• Robotic programming advantageous.

• Monitor products processed.
• Document and issue engineering change reports.
• Ensure that all processes are capable of supporting production.
• Set-up production line standards.
• Optimise plant lay-out to improve material and product flow in plant.

• Ensure correct start-up procedures are complied with and that the machinery is running at the start of the shift.
• Ensure that all reporting on machinery downtime/production is done.
• Monitor rejects and scrap and ensure scrap and reject targets are met.
• Assist Production Controller with adhoc projects.

• Develop production systems to ensure product quality is maintained.
• Ensure that the quality requirements are maintained.

• Suggest and implement productivity improvements.
• Assess VA/VE possibilities and implement cost downs.
• Plan and assist production areas regarding productivity improvements.

• Ensure all planned maintenance schedules are adhered to.
• Ensure safe working conditions and the application of safe working practices.
