Process Engineer (Mining Process Plants)

Based in Kempton Park and travel to various sites throughout Africa

Salary negotiable on experience

Provide process engineering support and direction to design activities relating to R&D, concept, pre-feasibility, feasibility studies, EPCM and EPC projects.

Main functions include (but not limited to):

Design Engineering

Technical Support

Resourcing

Commissioning

Reporting and Documentation

Peer review of estimates, schedules, proposals, designs and constructability

Key Performance Areas & Indicators (Responsibilities):

Engineering

Actively drive continuously improve innovation, initiate and implement upgrades in detail engineering and process designs and concepts to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Perform and drive “Fit for Purpose” engineering design.

Develop cost effective solutions and value creation

Carry the responsibility for the engineering discipline sign off.

Presentation of technical aspects internally and externally.

Provide input and setup contractual performance and acceptance criteria.

Perform engineering and design correctly detailed to the stage / level of the study or project.

Peer review designs and technical reports.

Perform technical investigation and reporting on that

Proficient in analytically assessment of mineral process applications and effectively reporting on the analysis.

Operational

Provide input into all SHE matters, actively participate and promote a total safety culture.

Demonstrates proactive management of time.

Continuously develop and upgrade processes to improve efficiency and work output. Set and continuously improves procedures / processes (example ISO).

Efficient delivery of work processes and design output deliverables.

Effectively shares and providing of information between disciplines, vendors and team.

Take responsibility off and actively engages in problem solving.

Produce high quality of reports.

Effective and efficient communication, both written and spoken, to management and teams internally and externally.

Lead or assist with commissioning phases of a project.

Positive disposition towards expat commissioning requirements.

Lead and manage teams (example studies, investigations, test work programs).

Peer review of design deliverables of the process engineers to ensure design quality and actively solving shortcomings in designs.

Mentoring and training of subordinate engineers.
