Process Projects Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client, a Global manufacturing concern, is in search of a qualified Engineer to do the running in of technology, process, and range of finished products according to the project plan.

POSITION INFO:
Role of the Job:

• Deliver the project in time and according to financial plan.
• Handle any engineering project work as assigned by the Site Engineer.
• Lead, plan, track and, when required, conceptualise project work as designated by the Initiative Manager.

• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• Project Management qualification an advantage.
• At least 3 years experience within the same or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Project management experience.
• Must have a sound working knowledge of the OHS Act and SANS standards.

• Complete responsibilities in accordance with best engineering practice and agreed standards, parameters and required legislation.
• Execute the project work activities according to the Quality and Environmental Management System, relevant ISO/SANS standards and Safety and Health regulations.
• Investigate into and implement projects for the improvement of cost efficiency within the operations environment, i.e. steam, power, water, compressed air, air conditioning, automation and digitalisation of processes.
• Secure the right transference of knowledge to the organisation in relation to the Project and ensure effective communication thereof.
• Assure the definition of the right standards in relationship with new projects, e.g. product specification, quality checks and validation routines.
• Design parts/systems to improve machine safety, quality, and efficiency where applicable.
• Participant in daily and weekly meetings.
• Create/amend process piping and instrumentation drawings for production, maintenance, fault finding and project activities from time to time.
• Identify and make available the new technologies improvements and perform technology benchmarks between lines, teams, and other factories.
• Assist with audit preparedness and ensure engineering documentation and records are up to date and available on request.
• Contribute to continuous improvements and optimisation of manufacturing processes in view of current trends and future requirements.
• Set standards by drawing up specifications and maintenance plans for identified critical production equipment.
• Create and lead technical training for relevant parties when new machine/processes are being commissioned.
