Procurement Assistant

Job Purpose

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Procurement & Supplier Management Assist with the sourcing and procurement of goods, materials, and services. Obtain quotations, assess supplier pricing, and support supplier selection. Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures. Build and maintain effective supplier relationships. Resolve supplier queries relating to pricing, deliveries, quality, and invoicing. Conduct supplier reviews to ensure competitive pricing and service delivery. Monitor supplier compliance, including maintaining valid B-BBEE documentation. Inventory & Stock Control Process Goods Received Notes (GRNs) accurately. Assist with stock movements, returns, and inventory control. Support warehouse operations by issuing and receiving stock. Monitor stock availability and assist in preventing supply shortages. Coordinate stock requirements for special events and operational needs. Procurement Administration Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. Assist with new item and asset creation on procurement systems. Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities. Assist with procurement reporting and supplier performance tracking. Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures. Operational Support Liaise with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements. Communicate potential supply chain risks or delays proactively. Provide general administrative support to the procurement team. Assist with ad hoc procurement and operational projects as required. Minimum Requirements Diploma or Degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field. 1-3 years' experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, or commercial administration. Knowledge of procurement and sourcing principles. Experience with stock control and inventory management. Understanding of B-BBEE procurement requirements. Strong Microsoft Office skills.
