JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client a leading supply chain with global presence is seeking a High Caliber Procurement Manager to join their team in Olifantsfontein. They are seeking a candidate with an Entrepreneurial mindset who will challenge daily normal and fit into their team. They offer a competitive salary along with benefits such as 50/50 medical contributions a Provident or Pension fund and a Car Allowance.

Package Breakdown:

  • Base package: 540K to 700K per annum
  • Benefits: 50/50 Medical aid contribution, Pension or Provident fund
  • Car Allowance: R7749 per month

Main Purpose

To achieve the best procurement for the country, maintaining service and quality. Looking for new ideas and opportunities and communicating across relevant departments and group meetings. The interface between suppliers and the business on price and relationship.

Job Description

Role

  • Supplier negotiation.
  • Agreeing and managing contracts
  • Working with R&D team sourcing and costing materials for product briefs, creating a preferred supplier list. The buyer is the only interface for the pricing with the supplier.
  • Liaising and managing in new contracts with Supply Chain team
  • Keeping up to date with current markets, influences, and opportunities
  • Looking for new product ideas, liaising with R&D.
  • Awareness of commercial impact on finished products of all materials.
  • Improving product margin
  • Giving the company a competitive edge
  • Ensuring we get the best price in the market
  • Gathering local market information and sharing in the group purchase meetings
  • Prices correct on ERP systems
  • Creating and updating Vendor master data on ERP system
  • Adheres and respects global purchasing policies
  • Upload bank details on the bank system
  • Resolve price queries from accounts payable
  • Create and maintain Supply Chain overhead budget
  • Create and maintain raw material and packaging standard costs

Key Activities

  • Positive buying price variance
  • Contracts database available.
  • Check and sign off product costings that meet business needs of expected margin, and control the number of new materials, and suppliers.
  • Supply chain department has the necessary contracts and agreements in place to operate.
  • Know prices and current markets.
  • Attend R&D meetings and weekly group buying KPI meetings.
  • Attends factory daily review meeting.
  • Visits lines in Factory at least three times a week talking to the line managers about issues and supplier performance affecting them.
  • Can generate costs and recipe awareness.
  • Weekly KPI figures measuring progress and projects
  • Physical files detailing up to date information and capabilities of each supplier.
  • Submit monthly accruals for supply chain
