JOB SUMMARY:
World class agricultural products and services provider seeks Procurement Officer to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualification

Matric.
Diploma/ Degree in Supply Chain Management and/or Logistics.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years working experience in planning and procurement of raw materials (import & local) within the chemical manufacturing industry.
Experience in maintaining procurement MRP data.

Duties

Compile and maintain preferred supplier list.
Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier’s reputation.
Negotiate prices for materials in accordance to demand seasonality.
Supplier performance management.
Working capital management through continuous inventory monitoring.
Support regulatory and R & D department with registration of new materials.
Develop and implement an effective supplier base and partnerships to create a reliable and long-term source of supply.
Demand forecast discussions with supplier as furnished by sales and commercial teams.
Analysing production and procurement lead times to ensure (internal & external) customer requirements can be met.
Responsible for ensuring prices negotiated with approved suppliers are consistent and are as competitive.
Effectively ensuring that supplies meet company output plan.
Liaising with other departments (Regulatory, R&D, Exports & Finance) exchanging information and giving procurement support to their functions.
Expediting purchase orders.
