JOB SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate will need to form part of the team, supporting the Head of Finance by aggressively managing cost of sales as well as keeping expenses down. He or she will be responsible for ensuring the business purchases goods and services that will best help them achieve their goals. Additionally, his or her will be responsible for also reviewing past purchases made by the company; this evaluation determines vendor effectiveness, compliance and ultimately, the business’s return on investment

JOB DESCRIPTION:

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES)

Overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the purchasing department.
Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
Following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures.
Reviewing, comparing, analysing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
Solution and product research
Inventory management
Procurement process optimization
RFP management
ROI analysis
Supplier evaluation and selection
Liaise with Risk and compliance department
Contract negotiation
Data analysis
Develop and carryout ESD strategies

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Must be fluent in English (Both written and spoken)
Must have valid passport and drives license

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain /Procurement or related qualification
Matric /National qualification (certificate)

EXPERIENCE:

5+ years’ Procurement experience
Previous application of and exposure to risk management techniques within this specialisation is preferable
Strong project management and organisation skills (build, manage & foster a team-oriented environment)
Extensive knowledge on SAP (PTP, IM)
