Procurement Specialist (6 Month Contract)

SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:

The resource will report to Manager: Demand and Acquisition. The resource is expected to manage, coordinate, and implement procurement strategy and processes to ensure compliance with provisions of the PMFA Act, Treasury Regulations, Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA) on competitive /open bids.

The Key Performance Areas will encompass:

1. Execution of procurement inline with Procurement Legislation, Policies and Procedures
2. Bid Specification
3. Evaluation of Procurement Proposals which include Bids, EOI, RFP and Quotes
4. Implementation and Monitoring of Procurement requests
5. Ensuring that administration process of procurement is adhered to.
6. Negotiations
7. People Management
8. Reporting and Accounting

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma in SCM or Equivalent in Procurement.
2. 5 years relevant work experience in procuring Goods and Services using Open Tender, Expression of Interest, Request for Proposals methods of which 2 years is at a supervisory level.

Technical competencies:

1. Knowledge of the company Procurement Policies
2. Knowledge of the Tender Procedures and legislation
3. Knowledge of strategic sourcing
4. Implement procurement strategy and processes.
5. ensure compliance with provisions of the PMFA Act,
6. Treasury Regulations, Preferential Procurement Policy
