Procurement Superintendent

Purpose:
This role is responsible for managing functions related to the Supply Chain and Logistics activities of Magnetite product. The role ensures that market demand is met by accurate forecasting, scheduling and execution of shipping services to supply the global magnetite market. Market supply is executed within the right costs and timelines under set export guidelines and regulations

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor''s degree in Procurement Management or Supply Chain Management
• A CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) preferable
• Minimum of 5 years'' experience in a Procurement environment preferably within a Mining Industry and/or shipping company.
• 5 years leadership experience
• SAP and MS Office (Advanced Excel) knowledge is a must.
• Driver''s license.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring outbound logistics products, ensuring that customer requirements are met and that product movements to the customer (mine to customer) are on schedule.
• Manage Magnetite Supply Chain commercial contracts: Transnet, Warehouses, Sidings and Agents etc.
• Manage the Magnetite Supply Chain cost per unit, $/ton. (Monthly reviews)
• Preparing and controlling the annual budget by forecasting operating, selling costs and monitoring expenditure on a monthly basis.
• Preparation of tender documents with procurement
• Ensuring expeditious resolution to customer and other claims.
• Drive innovative ways to reduce the cost of Magnetite logistics and delivery timelines.
• Together with production, the role engages with global internal customers (subsidiaries) weekly, monthly and yearly on supply opportunities and constraints.
• Shipping market analysis to explore opportunities for Magnetite
• Manage the Magnetite exports team.
• Assist the manager in rate negotiations and performance management of Supply Chain partners.
• Ensure compliance to relevant regulation with regards to exports
• Ensuring regular communication with service providers in order to expedite orders.
• Maintaining and improving product handling/quality, safety, health and environmental standards and practices
