SUMMARY:
Our client in the Pietermaritzburg area is recruiting for a Product Development Engineering Manager.

POSITION INFO:

Product Development:
Cost and time management of all product development-related projects, including prototype designs, technical qualification and testing
Manufacturing process design and implementation throughout the factory
Continuous improvement of products and manufacturing processes

Quality Management:
Assist the Quality department in the reduction of production waste throughout the factory.
Provide guidance to the receipt inspection team on all related incoming materials to be used on manufactured products
Assist with guidelines during the supplier qualification and audit processes

Sales and Marketing:
Assist in the compilation of tenders and other customer enquiries by completing all technical submissions
Address and close-out of all technical, product-related customer complaints

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably BSc (Eng.)
Professional registration with ECSA
Management certification will be an added advantage

Experience Required
A minimum of 10 years of product development engineering experience including manufacturing
A minimum of 5 years in the role of managing a technical team, preferably engineers
Experience in the electrical power transmission and distribution industry a distinct advantage
