SUMMARY:

An established manufacturer and distributor of agricultural chemicals is seeking an experienced Product Development Specialist to research and formulate new agrochemical remedies as well as improve existing formulations, ensuring adherence to regulatory protocol.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Must have a post graduate degree in analytical chemistry, organic chemistry or chemical engineering.
Knowledge and experience in formulation of agricultural remedies, adjuvants, biostimulants, biochemicals or similar fields are essential
Previous experience process development and in a production facility will be required
Knowledge of regulatory aspects of agricultural remedies are important
Formulating knowledge of bio-remedies will be an added advantage

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Performing product development and formulation design.
Preparing formulations and formulating processes
Testing of prototypes and production of samples.
Testing of samples, including all aspects of physical and chemical requirements of formulations.
Identifying and documenting ingredients and ingredient requirements.
Liaising with inhouse and 3rd party test facilities, both local and international.
Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers.
Generating business plans for upcoming product development requirements and staying up to date with material and market trends.
Preparing patent and other legal documents.
Liaising with regulatory bodies, including import and export permits

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
