SUMMARY:

A global horticultural seed company is seeking the above to implement the product and market development strategy for their Vegetable division, by liaison with the Marketing-, Sales- and Breeding teams as well as key Growers and international Suppliers.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Must have a BSc Degree in Plant Production/ Plant Science/Plant Pathology or relevant field of study
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial Agricultural environment will be required
Previous work experience on a commercial farm, preferably with vegetable production is important
Must be computer literate and have good interpersonal skills
All round crop experience would be preferred and previous vegetable crop experience would be an added advantage
Good communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, will be required

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Developing and implementing crop and variety marketing and sales strategies.
Performing product life cycle management and trial management, including planning, implementation and evaluation.
Supporting sales and marketing efforts.
Maintaining crop and variety knowledge.
Training Sales Representatives and presenting at Farmer’s Days or to key accounts.
Providing technical support in the form of specialist product knowledge.
Performing global and local supplier and key client liaison.

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
