Product Manager - Personal Care / Pharma Manufacturing Industries

SUMMARY:
A well-known Company distributing speciality raw material ingredients requires the above to Manage and Drive their speciality products into the Personal Care Manufacturing and Health Care Markets.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• A tertiary qualification in Sciences or related is preferred.
• Previous Sales and or Product Management experience within the Personal Care and or Pharmaceutical Industries is essential.
• Previous experience having Managed and worked with International Suppliers is preferred.
• Must be computer literate with good Excel, and PowerPoint skills is essential.
• The successful candidate must be detail orientated, well organised with excellent negotiating skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• The successful candidate will drive and manage Sales, Marketing, Product Development and building concepts in the Laboratory.
• Manage and negotiate with Overseas Suppliers, driving their product ranges as well as being involved in the product development and sales to Customers.
• Manage Clients and Key Accounts as well as International Suppliers.
• Develop business and establish sales budgets, growth strategies and tactical implementation plans suitable to South Africa, while reporting to Global Suppliers Internationally.  
• Strategically report on market and competitor intelligence as well as industry and customer specific requirements, for new and existing products and applications and negotiate and set prices of speciality chemicals.
• Liaise with Suppliers to ensure shipments are on time, negotiate with Global Suppliers to get the right product at the best prices as well as ensuring that stock on hand vs lead time are in line.
• Manage and handle quality and commercial complaints from Clients.
• Manage Supplier agreements, growth expectations and relationships, providing product training and recommendations to Clients when required to do so.
