We are looking for a Product Owner â?? Travel Management for a 12-month fixed term contract Position with our client based in Centurion/Pretoria.

Willing and able to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time (Internationally) with a Valid Driverâ??s License.

 

Minimum educational level:

  • B Comm. / BSc degree in Business or Information Technology or Engineering or equivalent work experience

 

Working knowledge of the following modules will be advantageous:

  • SAP FI
  • SAP HR Advantageous
  • SAP HANA S4

 

We require a minimum of 10 years work experience in:

  • Will be part of an agile LPUR T team responsible for the SAP Concur Travel Management Product.
  • 10+ years of experience in self-initiated development and implementation, as well as reasoning with decision-makers.
  • 5+ Years managerial experience including financial responsibility and disciplinary team leadership responsibility.
  • 10+ Yearsâ?? experience as a Manager of Multiple IT Projects and/or Application Operations and Support Services for large Enterprise Systems (Service Desk/1st Level Operations, SAP, Batch/Job Control, Mainframe and Windows Client / Server Environments), including exposure to IT Project Management, System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ITSM (ITIL) and IT Service Continuity Management / Disaster Recovery.
  • As an advantage: 5+ Yearsâ?? experience working on international projects or Assignments.
  • As an advantage, additional general mixed experience in IT systems, infrastructure and application architectures and technologies e.g. Operating Systems, Networks, Servers, Databases, Backup, Storage and Archiving, Web Technologies (Internet, Intranet), End Devices, Security (Encryption, Authentication, Anti-Virus), middleware and connection interfaces.
  • Predominant authority in determining the achievement of the most important results including its proof (e.g. publications).
  • Negotiation skills.
  • English language competency.
  • Competence to represent the assigned scope towards all relevant internal functions and roles at company and external partners, if necessary.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a clearly defined product scope (development, operation, continuous improvement, etc.) towards all relevant internal functions and roles at company and external partners, where necessary.
  • Responsible for the content prioritization of the product backlog as well as the distribution of the existing budget in terms of a maximum customer value towards the Feature Teams (possibly indirectly via a Product Owner hierarchy).
  • Group-wide and international responsibility for cross domain components regarding DevOps issues
  • Harmonizes business processes of the different IT and business Domains in cooperation with the Process Owners.
  • If no agreement in prioritization can be reached, escalation to PRIME Process Owner and FG

 

Skills and Experience:

Job Activities:

  • Technical leadership of the Feature Teams towards the Feature Team members and Line Managers or rather the respective disciplinary superiors.
  • Prioritize the backlogs towards the Feature Teams as well as all relevant internal functions and roles at company and external partners, if necessary
  • Specify product requirements towards the Feature Teams.
  • Evaluate and decide on the implemented product scope according to acceptance criteria towards the Feature Teams.
  • Release the product range towards all relevant internal functions at company and external partners, if necessary.
  • Establish a suitable Product Owner hierarchy towards the Feature Teams as well as all relevant internal functions at company and external partners, if necessary.
  • Define, request and, if necessary, escalate the funds required for successful implementation (required resources including defined skill set, budget) towards higher levels of the organization as well as relevant process partners / line functions.
  • Technical escalation to the next higher Product Owner hierarchy towards other Product Owners.
  • Escalate disciplinary issues or non-availability of competencies towards the Line Managers of the Feature Teams.
  • Understanding of business processes and IT regarding scope of the Domain Competence to define and valuate demands
  • Agile mindset and know-how (of agile processes and principals)
  • Management, stakeholder and escalation competence (e.g. to PRIME Process Owner)
  • Leadership competence and team spirit
  • Planning ability (business processes and financial including SaKO and PeKo) Ability to decide for prioritization
  • Create / check Test cases
  • Support with Go Live preparation and support during Go Live (could be on weekends, late evenings)
  • Ensure implementation according timeline
  • Develop solution and prepare for User Acceptance Test Ensure Transition into line
  • Ensure availability during Go Live (Weekend) and Hypercare phase as well as Year-End activities (end of Dec/beginning of January)
  • Ensure proper documentation (Design, Technical documents)
  • Follow Agile Methodology approach
