JOB SUMMARY:
One of the world’s leading international retail digital businesses is seeking a skilled Product Owner to maximise the value of software products which are being developed. This is achieved via multiple activities such as translating strategic goals into operational objectives, performing research, analysis, understanding and communicating business/client requirements into software requirements which will meet the company needs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience implementing software systems and running with projects independently.
Minimum 3 years agile Product Owner experience required.
Experience working in a Scrum based agile team.
Business Analysis Outputs Diagramming.
Jira Experience is advantageous.
Certified Scrum Product Owner certification will be an added advantage.
3PL Logistics industry exposure is advantageous.
Business/Systems Analysis experience required.
Ability to develop insight into business processes.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills (English – Written and Spoken).
Strong business stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage expectations and push back when required.
A proven passion for all things software (and some hardware).
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
Capacity and inclination to learn and you must be passionate about building scalable systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures requirements are aligned with direction and goals provided by senior leadership for assigned areas.
Performs research on competitive and related products with intention of obtaining requirements to keep assigned products competitive.
Prepares and maintains software release plans which identify the target scope and forecast the delivery date of software based on estimations and available capacity from the team.
Ensures effective communication with business stakeholders, CTO and development team on timings.
Connects and collaborates with business stakeholders to obtain clear requirements. Performs interviews, site visits, surveys and workshops to stay connected.
Performs requirements analysis on Product Backlog items; critically evaluates, reconciles conflicts between requirements, decomposes high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishes user requests from the underlying true needs. Records groomed requirements in the form of standardized User Stories and analysis diagrams as needed.
Ensures there is consensus and understanding of all Product Backlog items by development team.
Ensure requirements are prioritized according to the level of business value offered to business stakeholders.
Arranges JAD sessions with software team and relevant stakeholders to collaborate on best design decisions and ensures all issues/risks are addressed and appropriate changes documented and made to the functional specification.
Represents the voice of business stakeholders for the development team.
Responsible for deciding when User Stories are ‘Done’ by reviewing whether development team output adheres to requirements.
Ensures that the Backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all, and shows what the development team will work on next.
Ensures the development team understands items in the Product Backlog to the level needed.
Assists development team in making estimations of development of user stories
