Product Owner

About the position:

Our client exists to facilitate convenient and trusted community transactions through innovative and awesome technology. Their mobile app allows parents to easily pay their school for their child's events and other expenses. No more searching for loose change or making cumbersome EFTs. The mobile app helps schools and teachers by streamlining the cash collection process, eliminating time-consuming and costly collection methods, and improving safety and security for everyone involved.

Our client is working on the launch of a card for children that parents can manage via their mobile app. Parents can load funds onto the card and set controls.

Our client is on a mission to make schools safer, and to make payments and collections quick, easy and hassle free. They are made up of a team of rockstar teachers, parents, sales experts, engineers and financiers who are working together to take the mobile app onto the global stage.

As the Product Owner you will be the point person on the Product Development team, using your high-level perspective to define goals and create a vision for tech development projects.

Responsibilities:

• Researching customer experience to drive product development
• Developing user journeys, user stories, and use cases
• Working with the Operations and Engineering teams to ensure Product-Market-Fit with appropriate feedback loops
• Managing the product backlog for sprint and release planning
• Prioritizing feature and bug work in the backlog
• Overseeing and supporting development stages
• Evaluating product progress at each iteration
• Acting as a primary liaison between stakeholders and Development/Quality Assurance teams
• Developing end-to-end operational process flows and requirements to support effective product launch and product management
• Promote continuous improvement across the team
• Standard Product Owner tasks:
  • Project management
  • Writing requirements
  • Documenting flow charts
  • Running story mapping sessions
  • Data mapping
  • Attending stand-ups

Qualifications and Experience required:

• Experience with CRM systems
• 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Scrum Master or Quality Assurance
• Willing to work hard and get hands dirty
• Adaptable to change and excited to take on new challenges
• Able to drive a team forward to achieve targets and address missed targets head on
• A strong passion for changing the status quo
• Team player

• Hands on experience with enterprise class software running significant transactional volumes
