Product Owner/ Manager

Description:

The Product Owner will own the product throughout its life cycle. This means continuously focusing on the client experience, helping the business build the right product and ensuring the commercial viability of the product. Drive decision-making through customer insights, quantitative analysis, and commercial insights. Execute business product strategy and manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, product profitability and roadmap. You will collaborate with business to ensure the execution of all product features and through active engagement with relevant stakeholders and specialists, ensure product success.

Education:

• Appropriate tertiary qualification (NQF5 or above) with five years’ relevant experience in project management.
• Certification or Accreditation in a Recognized Project Methodology (Agile, Prince2/PMBOK) (Essential).

Skills:

• 3+ years' experience as a product manager/owner with experience in an Agile environment.
• 3 + years’ experience in Project Management.
• Proven experience designing product features and executing product plans with a well-defined process.
• Develop and drive a product strategy that is aligned to business strategy to ensure business growth and sustainability.
• Collaborate with the business to execute the product road map.
• Develop and drive plans to close any product performance gaps.
• Establishment, alignment and management of target and budget goals whilst ensuring effective control of costs for a range of functional areas to increase cost efficiency.
• Deliver exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions.
• Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end users, SME’s, project managers and senior staff members.
• Maintenance of expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments industry best practices and provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders.
• Translate strategies into actionable goals and execute relevant projects / initiatives aligned to strategic objectives with specific performance measures and control systems to track progress.
• Implement and maintain sound business processes that minimise business risk and deliver quality requirements specifications.
• Manage designated product development projects from inception to final execution, including post implementation evaluation.
• Initiate and manage market research, data mining and quantitative analysis to ensure sustainability and future competitive growth.
• Explore local and international markets for new products and trademarks in order to expand and strengthen the business' market position.
• Facilitate the conversion of knowledge and ideas into new or improved products, processes and services.
