Production Manager

SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include scheduling building and equipment maintenance, monitoring performance of factory staff, ensure all production orders are completed in a timely manner. Min NDIP / Engineering Degree and/or certified Trade Test qualification. Solid Managerial experience within a factory environment.

POSITION INFO:

JOB PURPOSE

The factory managers responsibilities include scheduling building and equipment maintenance as needed, monitoring the performance of factory staff, and ensuring that all production orders are completed in a timely manner. This position is responsible for enforcing compliance with health and safety regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job-related activities include, but are not limited to:

• Developing and implementing innovative strategies to streamline factory operations.
• Screening, recruiting, and training new factory workers.
• Collaborating with quality control managers to establish and execute quality control processes.
• Ensuring that factory machinery is in good working order.
• Analyzing production data to identify and resolve any production issues.
• Preparing production reports and submitting them to key decision-makers.
• Regularly inspecting finished products to determine whether they meet established quality standards.
• Motivating factory workers to continually achieve factory targets.
• Ensure personal productivity and performance meets required standards.
• Plan, draw up and execute a production schedule
• Determine and order the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate
• Monitor productivity rates and product standards, and implement a quality control programme
• Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget, and that quality standards and targets are met
• Work with managers to implement the companys policies and goals
• Review worker performance and identify training needs
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
• Ad hoc duties, as required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS:

• This position is based in an industrial factory with automated machinery.
• For this position, you must be medically fit and mobile.

REQUIREMENTS

The requirements and qualifications for this position include:

• National Diploma/Degree in Engineering, preferred, or Qualified Millwright with certified trade test.
• Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a factory.
• Certification in production and inventory management, as well as quality control, is advantageous.
• Sound knowledge of industry-specific factory equipment.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
