JOB SUMMARY:
Production Manager required to join Manufacturer based in Ballito. Required to oversee workers and equipment they operate on the factory floor. Responsible for contributing to and carrying out production strategy decisions.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requires experience working on the factory floor and gaining technical experience with the equipment. The successful candidate will be innovative and resourceful, able to handle pressure, an assertive problem solver with decision making abilities and a team member who is self-motivated. Must have good business acumen and be able to communicate at all levels, be organized and self - disciplined.

Responsibilities:
  • Execution of the company manufacturing strategy
  • Input into Planning, Leading, organizing and controlling the manufacturing team.
  • Maintaining and improving waste generation and disposal.
  • Maintaining and improving Process Safety and QA requirements.
  • Input into the monthly Print plan according to material availability.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.:
  • Manage daily and weekly production plans.
  • Ensure samples are made up and sent in time.
  • Plan staff shifts
  • Lead the daily walkabout meetings
  • Manage production staff
  • Create and understand Investigation reports
  • Follows SOP’s
  • Assist with audits and responses.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and validated.
  • Hire and Train Factory Staff - participate in interviewing and selecting staff & train new hires on factory policies and procedures.
  • Delegate Tasks to Factory Staff as Necessary
  • Production Managers constantly walk the factory floor to make sure all employees are performing their assigned tasks. This involves keeping employees content and motivated.
  • Create and Enforce Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures
  • Create and Implement Machine Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensure factory equipment is running at optimal efficiency
  • Analyse Factory Production Data and Devising Improvement Strategies as Necessary
  • Keep a close eye on key production metrics. By constantly analysing this data
  • Identify and address dips in production before they become major issues.
  • Create Production Data Reports and Present them to Decision Makers
  • C production reports based on data analysis. Present these production reports to decision makers in strategy meetings on a regular basis.

  • Commence daily production in accordance with production schedule
  • Complete spec sheet checklist for every new production item
  • Ensure all start times, breaks and closing times are maintained
  • Maintaining production quality controls
  • Supervising all production teams and their team leaders
  • Managing production speed
  • Managing worker rolls and responsibilities
  • Accounting for all manufactured stock
  • Maintaining accurate daily production score registers
  • Managing production HR
  • Ensuring a neat production work environment is maintained
  • Ensuring safety on the Production floor and in production common areas
  • Motivate teams and ensure targets are met.
