X1 Production Manager: Citrus / x1 Production Manager: Grapes

POSITION INFO:

2 positions available 
Our client, a leading fruit exporter and producer is currently recruiting for the Boland Area: -
Minimum knowledge and experience:
Relevant Tertiary qualification in Agriculture, and 7 – 10 years Citrus or Grapes experience at farm production, packing and management level.
Knowledge and experience of the Agriculture industry and Fruit Export in SA
Extensive Knowledge and experience in citrus fruit / Grapes production
Knowledge of accreditation and export requirements
Strong staff management experience
Knowledge of farming equipment and machinery, maintenance etc.
Duties will include but not limited to: -
Production Planning and Supervising all production activities
Annual Financial Planning, Costing/Budgeting
Harvest estimates and forecasting
Identifies and manages potential safety and security issues
Supervises all steps of the production process including planting, fertilizing, harvesting, and packing
Procurement, negotiating and liaising with suppliers
Manage pest control programmes
Manage weed and fungus control programmes / Manages irrigation programmes
Manage the Citrus / grape Division on the farms according to the Company''s global standards and values  Lead the Division on the farms to successfully implement their strategy
Increase the value and profitability of the Division on the farms to the benefit of all stakeholders
Develop, implement, and manage a sustainable and cost-effective tactical marketing plan for the farms in conjunction with the General Manager: Production (Farming) Western Cape
Ensure that the farms attract and maintain the best human capital talent in the industry, within an environment and culture that supports fair and reasonable labour practices
Manages time and attendance for labour teams Train, mentor and upskill Production Management Team and Labour Force
Attributes:
Strong persuasive, communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
An achievement driven individual with strong negotiating skills
Good computer software skills
Strong business skills – backed by sound financial knowledge
Proactive in planning and problem-solving scenarios
Must have the ability to build high performance production teams from a diverse work force
