Production Manager (Fruit Industry)

SUMMARY:
Our client requires the services of an experienced Production Manager, the role of the Production Manager is to oversee the production process, coordinate all production activities including but not limited to the following:

POSITION INFO:

• Collaborate with the quality department to monitor the various aspects of food processing to ensure final products meet set specifications.
• Prepare and present periodic reports to update company management on food production operations.
• Ensure compliance with all internal and external food production regulations and legislation.
• Implement changes to increase product quality, production output and reduce waste.
• Plan, draw up and communicate daily, weekly and monthly production schedules
• Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
• Monitor productivity rates and implement changes to procedures to improve output
• Liaise with different departments, teams and companies on matters relating to the production operation
• Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times
• Supervise and motivate a team of workers to ensure daily production targets are achieved.
• Set and implement standards, procedures, and processes for the production facility
• Review worker performance and identify training needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or qualification in a similar discipline is essential
• At least 5 years prior experience in a similar role in the production of fruit and fruit juice concentrates in a controlled temperature environment is an added advantage

• Well organized administratively, with acute attention to administrative detail and accuracy
