My client is looking for a passionate, flexible, result-oriented and detail-focused production manager to take charge of their production operations in Cape Town. The company will need you to manage day-to-day production, but also to help us create and implement processes and systems to support our core values of quality and flexibility, while driving efficiency.

Headline Responsibilities

Manage all activities within the production process, including maintenance and workforce allocation.

Create and implement production processes – everything from receiving wine (or other ingredients); to mixing, cooling, and carbonating products for packaging; to lab checks and quality assurance procedures.

Assist in creating and implementing QA processes to support our core value of quality.

Formulate, implement, and uphold Standard Operating Procedures to ensure quality and maximize operational efficiency.

Work closely with our sales team to ensure that we understand and exceed customer expectations, and work closely with our finance team to ensure that we invoice and report accurately.

Display a customer-service orientation; communicating effectively with customers to manage and meet their expectations.

Become competent (and be available) to run our mobile canning machine (Wild Goose Canning) on offsite packaging runs.

Act as a leader and standard bearer of the company

Requirements:

Liquid skills: The role requires you to handle a large variety of liquids. Experience in liquid handling process from intake, to carbonation to post canning analysis is necessary for a successful candidate Previous brewery and winery experience is advantageous.

People skills: this role requires working with a number of stakeholders in a constantly changing environment. Excellent people skills are important.

Mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting skill: as in any production environment

Attitude: A positive, can-do (pun intended) attitude is absolutely required. There are no problems only opportunities to find solutions

5 years of experience in production management Wine production and/or packaging experience

Problem solving leader with a positive disposition

Flexibility and adaptability

The ability to be proactive and take the initiative

Strong communication skills (spoken, written and face to face)

Leader, teacher and coach

Sound judgment and detail oriented

Familiarity with Google Apps including online calendars and cloud-based organizational system and Excel basic knowledge

Salary: Base salary will be dependent on experience Hours:

Full-time position (Monday- Friday including weekends on occasions)
