Production Microbiologist / Bio Technologist - Fertilizer / Agric Industry

SUMMARY:
A well-known and established Agricultural Company requires the above to assist the Production Manager to enhance research and development of Biological Technology (bio-stimulants, biologicals and adjuvants) within the productivity of Crops both Locally and Internationally.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Previous experience having worked as a Microbiologist or Bio-Technologist or Chemical Engineer or related role within the Agricultural Production environment assisting the Agricultural Production Manager with various Agricultural products is preferred.
• Must have good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel etc. with the ability to work independently.
• Previous experience having worked on an ERP System in preferred.
• Must have strong interpersonal and Supervisory skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Assist and support the Agricultural Production Manager to ensure that all utilities in the Factory are monitored and in good working condition for the smooth running of all production processes.
• Ensure the relevant SOPS are adhered to and Staff are alerted on issues and risks that may arise when production processes are achieved.
• Drive various processes, troubleshooting and optimizing products.
• Assist in the upscale studies on Research and Development Projects.
• Provide technical assistance, manage and oversee Technicians throughout production.
• Perform product manufacturing, within controlled environment areas, of bacterial vaccines by utilizing normal laboratory equipment in strict compliance with standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Oversee the production of adjuvants, inspect, sampled and test in-process or completed products and components.
• Prepare and present technical reports to Senior Management.
• Assist in process specific operations to ensure production of specific operations are carried out, this may include but will not be limited to centrifugation, fermentor runs and setting up of other processes.
• Assist Research and Development with formulation work and experiments for the development of technical skills and knowledge to be transferred into production.
