Our client is a biotech start-up set up as a Special Purpose Vehicle with a vision to mitigate GHG emissions using the biological pathway of utilizing captured CO2 to cultivate Microalgae from which high-value biochemicals, food ingredients and food supplements are extracted. The company has launched its Series “A” Fundraising to finance the construction of a Demonstration plant as part of the long-term development Master Plan that will lead to the construction of several Microalgae biorefineries in the country and beyond borders. In preparation for the start of construction and operations, the company needs a full complement of staff from a Project Manager (General Manager designate) to factory floor cleaner. We are looking for innovative and motivated scientific personnel interested in joining a team that seeks to make a difference in the food and food ingredients markets.

The purpose of the position

Responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment and systems.

Minimum Requirements and Skills

Qualifications & Experience

• BSc in Aquaculture/Marine Biology/Biological/Chemical Engineering

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment and systems in the Algae Biorefinery including facility cleaning, equipment set-up and operation, CIP / SIP, basic maintenance of equipment and services.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of production and quality control procedures, carrying out administrative duties including completion of standard production forms and risk assessments, monitor, collate and report process outputs and data adhering to good documentation practices.
