Our client based in the Pietermaritzburg area is seeking an organized Production Planner. The ideal candidate should have exceptional communication skills as well as Production experience.

 

Main Job Functions:

• Create production schedules and plans according to machine and material availability.
• Print and distribute productions schedules to the factory floor.
• Prioritize various customer orders according to delivery dates and urgency.
• Communicate material requirements and availability with stores and procurement teams.
• Asses actual production vs planned production, highlighting discrepancies with the senior supervisor and/or production manager.
• Create customer specific delivery schedules for orders.
• Ensure on-time delivery by keeping track of each customer order from the time it is committed until the time it is shipped.
• Communicate delivery schedules with customers as well as any delays.
• Compile daily truck loading lists.
• Order/book trucks for product delivery.
• Manage work in progress stock to minimize unnecessary stock holding.
• Be able to report back on production capacity and available capacity for new orders.
• Carry out any reasonable instructions from Management.

 

Requirements:

3-year Tertiary Qualification (bachelor’s degree) in logistics, operations management
