Production Planner

SUMMARY:
New opportunity for an experienced Production Planner from the Manufacturing or FMCG industry

POSITION INFO:

Completed Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or Logistics, coupled with 5 years relevant Production Planning experience

Literate on Advanced Excel and JDE

Planning:

• Work closely with the Sales team on reviewing the 13-week forecast

• Fully manage the weekly planning meetings together with sales and

  logistics

• Compile weekly Production Plans

• Compile 3-month planning reports

• Fully manage (iSIM) – planning and MRP tool

• Work closely with the materials controller on material requirements and

  forecasting

• Work closely with procurement and sign off all Purchases Orders relating to

  materials

• Work closely with the OPS team on production scheduling and line

  allocations

• Create Works Orders per the production plan

• Manage Works orders and ensure these are updated with bom and process

  changes

• Ensure works orders are completed/closed and manufacturing journals are

  executed

• Work closely with the technical department on the creation of new item

  codes, bom setup and requirements

Materials Management:

• Work closely with the materials controller on material requirements and

  forecasting

• Review the production plan with the materials management team and ensure order are place per requirements and lead times

• Full management of consignment stock, ensuring JDE is updated, monthly

  recons completed, and correct stock quantities are transferred from

  Consignment to available stock

• Ensure all documentation is signed, stamped, and filed correctly

• Manage iSim master data and ensure planning time fences, buffer stocks

  and lead times are updated correctly

• Review daily stock counts

• Report daily on production plan execution

• Report daily on production plan variances

• Highlight any material below optimum level and raise concerns to allow the

  business reasonable response time

• Ensure all processing is fully completed prior to month end including grns,

  manuals and all other document processing relating to materials

  management

Reporting and Analysis:

• Report daily on production plan execution

• Report daily on production plan variances

• Prepare and report on Weekly Plan vs Actual achievement

• Report on overstock items, work with sales team on sales plan and finance

  on any possible SLOBS risk

• Report on materials availability and risks to the plan

Control & Governance:

• Ensure control environment is maintained and correct processes are followed

  as detailed per SOPs

• Review SOPs and ensure process flow is in line with actual processes

• Be the first point of contact with regard to all planning activities

• Ensuring company policies and procedures are upheld and applied at all

  times

• Preforming any other adhoc duties that may be required from time to time
