JOB SUMMARY:
Our client in the steel industry is looking to employ a detail-oriented and experienced Production Planner to create, modify, and manage production planning schedules.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position: Production Planner (Steel)
Location: Alberton, Gauteng
Salary Range: R 14 000.00 – R 18 000.00 CTC pm

The successful incumbent will be responsible for:

Evaluate purchase orders or forecasts to ensure that there is sufficient information to create a suitable Quality Control Plans
Estimate the amount of material required for production and check availability
Generate Quality Control Plan as per customer requirements
Communicate with the Accounts Department to ensure that there is sufficient credit facility available
Place the strip on the production planning board according to the lead time
When necessary, communicate with other Planners and the Sales Department to effect changes on the production planning board to ensure that customer lead times are met
Promptly address and resolve planning issues to minimize delays in production
Promptly inform the relevant departments of changes to estimated readiness dates
Capture Quality Control Plan once completed by Production and inform the Sales Department it is ready for delivery

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

Senior Certificate with above average Mathematics results
Proven experience in Steel industry
Experience in Production Planning preferred
