POSITION INFO:

Urgent!!!! Urgent!!!  Production Superintendent WCP Mining  Mozambique

A well established and growing Mining giant urgently seeks a seasoned and experienced WCP Production Superintendent. Mining background is a MUST!  Candidate will report to the Mine Manager.

Main purpose of job       To Manage process in the WCP in order to deliver the budgeted throughput at required recovery levels and in the most cost effective and safe manner possible whilst optimising plant and equipment utilisation, development and execution of the weekly and hourly loadings plans, and people requirements management.

KEY MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. EH&S compliance and management for the team and all people working in the area
    1. Contribute to the definition of the requirements for effective EH&S management and compliance throughout the WCP operation (policies, procedures, processes, guidelines, standards and direction). These must comply with Kenmare, legal and statutory EH&S requirements.
    2. Define the approach required for the delivery of the required EH&S programs throughout the WCP operation. This shall include the plans, resources, timeframes and support (internal and external) for effective delivery of the required program.
    3. Define the processes for the communication of the requirements for effective EH&S management and compliance
    4. Ensure that the requirements for effective EH&S management and compliance are clearly communicated and understood by direct reports and all personnel operating in the Mine (employees, contractors and other personnel)
    5. Ensure through appropriate direction and supervision of supervisors and operators that the EH&S standards are adhered to
    6. Ensure through own personal behaviour absolute compliance with EH&S requirements, setting an example to all employees regarding their expected standards of compliance with EH&S requirements.
  1. Ensure the required standards of leadership are provided to the Mine Supervisors and operators through the following:
    1. Appropriate assignment of task and activity is provided to ensure the establishment of performance criteria expectations for the individual or team of what is to be achieved in terms of Quantity, Quality, Resources and Timeframe.
    2. Provide direction with appropriate discretion levels set as to the method and processes to be used throughout the WCP operation
    3. Follow up and monitor actual performance against planned performance of direct reports and the WCP team
    4. Provide feedback to reinforce good performance and positive behaviours and communicate and identify improvable performance and behaviour
    5. Coach and support personnel in order to enhance their performance and the outcomes of the team
    6.  Communicate information accurately, in a timely manner and in the appropriate format

 

 

  1. Contribute to the definition of key operational and performance parameters for all areas of responsibility throughout the Mine. Define the processes for the achievement of these parameters. These should include but not be limited to:
    1.  Identification of the current performance
    2. Definition of the gap between current and required performance
    3. Development of plans to deliver the required performance
    4. Identification of resources (internal and external)
    5. Identification of timeframes
    6. Definition of capital requirements, support and technical input

 

  1. Responsible for the implementation of the processes throughout the Mine for holding supervisors and operators accountability for delivery of performance to agreed standards.

 

  1. Responsible for ensuring compliance with the processes for delivering a clear commercial basis for all decisions and actions taken

 

  1. Responsible for providing input into the development of the processes, systems, tools and competencies and lead the required activities to ensure effective problem definition and problem solving outcomes are delivered for all areas of accountability.

 

  1. Responsible for the management of the processes required maintain control over costs (operating and capital) throughout the Mine

 

  1. Responsible for the implementation of the required processes, systems and controls to enable the effective operation of the Mine and ensure the delivery of budget requirements. This will include but not be limited to the following:

 

    1. Capable and skilled resources
    2. Systems
    3. Tools
    4. Short term and tactical plans and schedules
    5. Plant and equipment
    6. Leadership and direction

 

  1. Responsible for the development of the training and development plans for supervisory and operations personnel throughout the Mine, delivering these within the agreed timeframes

 

10    Responsible for the performance management of supervisors and operators throughout the Mine. These will include but not be limited to daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual processes.

 

KEY PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Responsible for the management of process and supervision of personnel in the Mine in order to deliver the budgeted throughput at required recovery levels and in the most cost effective and safe manner possible whilst optimising plant and equipment utilisation

 

  1. Responsible for the development and execution of the three month, 14 day and 36 hour production plans, ensuring delivery of the following:
    1. Optimised production output
    2. Maximum value to the business

                                          i.    Need to balance short and medium term business performance and economic requirements

                                         ii.    Delivery of agreed cost outcomes

                                        iii.    Maximisation of asset utilisation

    1. Meet all legal obligations

                                          i.    EHS

                                         ii.    Employment conditions

    1. Within the constraints of the current equipment

 

  1. Responsible for input into and the execution of the improvement plans throughout the Mine which includes
    1. Delivery of the current PIP planned outcomes
    2. Delivery of the current budget requirements and any initiatives that may be required to facilitate this delivery
    3. The delivery of planned capital requirements
    4. Any identified improvements and enhancements to the operation of the Mine
    5. Personnel requirements
    6. Systems and process requirements

 

  1. Responsible for the timely and cost effective delivery of the WCP capital and operating budget.
