Port Elizabeth-Production Supervisor
Reporting to the Plant Manager
Purpose:
To operate and monitor automated stamping press line machinery, ensuring consistent production of
high-quality parts in accordance with specifications and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics/Technical subjects preferred.
- 3+ years of machine operating experience in a metal stamping or manufacturing environment.
- Basic supervisory or team leadership experience will be an advantage
- Good communication and interpersonal skills in English or Afrikaans
- Good physical health and visual acuity
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of press safety.
- Able to work shifts and overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate automated stamping equipment, including coil feeders and robotic arms.
- Conduct visual inspections of stamped components for defects or irregularities.
- Monitor material supply and ensure uninterrupted flow of components to the press line
- Support the Plant Manager and Area Supervisor in coordinating shift activities
- Supervise assigned production workers and support staff on the line
- Ensure team compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
- Report production line issues, delays, or shortages to the relevant supervisor
- Guide employees on basic operating instructions and safe material handling practices
- Assist in shift handovers, recording of output, and reporting performance data
- Record production data and downtime accurately.
- Perform basic adjustments and troubleshoot stoppages.
- Report equipment faults to maintenance team.
