Production Technician

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a Production Technician to join their team. This role requires someone that has experience in the manufacturing industry and has strong troubleshooting skills.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

• Perform production line set-ups and changeovers.
• Execute tool changes and machine configurations across all extrusion equipment.
• Set up auxiliary equipment (feeders, driller units and coilers).
• Optimize machine performance to meet OEE targets.
• Ensure production lines run at optimal technical levels to meet output targets.
• Input order and parameter specifications into the Management Execution System.
• Assist with production planning and scheduling on SAP.
• Perform fault finding and root cause analysis.
• Respond to breakdowns and assist with repairs to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) and health, safety and environmental protocols.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Manage wear parts replacement and stock control (rollers, rings, tools, etc.).
• Participate in equipment installations and technical upgrades.
• Provide after-hours support and standby coverage for production needs.
• Provide training to the Production Supervisors on technical aspects.

• Matric certificate.
• Red seal certificate.
• Millwright / Electrical education.
• 5+ years in a similar role / manufacturing environment.
• An understanding of production processes and mechanical systems.
• ERP system experience.
• Must be a hands on person.
• Critical thinking skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent numeracy skills and computer literacy.
• Must have good communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
• Drivers license.
• Willing to work shifts when required.
