SUMMARY:
One will be required to coordinate the production team to successfully deliver products and services of high quality, within specified time frames, safely and to the customer’s satisfaction and to oversee the workshop and maintenance schedules as well as organizing human and material resources effectively.

POSITION INFO:

  • Optimise team performance and communication be preparing daily operating instructions
  • Long term strategic planning focused on improvement and accountability
  • Manage incidents by responding, reporting and Investigating them timeously
  • Maintain all workshop equipment
  • Forecasting: Manufacturing and assembly hours
  • Monitoring: Actual vs Forecasting, schedules
  • Assist with Tender process
  • Guidance: Provide technical guidance during manufacturing and assembly process
  • Responsible for preparing daily operating instructions that optimise the performance of the team and communicates.
  • Prepare long term plans that deliver the strategic plan and result in continuous improvement in his area of accountability.
  • Implement and manage a maintenance plan for the site
  • Manage team leaders, organises staff and ensures that targets are achieved.
  • Ensure production and maintenance is carried out in accordance with the OHS Act (83 of 1995)
  • Ensure all incidents are responded to, reported and investigated in a timely manner.
  • Focus on quality delivery and minimizing cost impact as a result of quality.
  • Ensure all workshop equipment is maintained in good condition according to standards and South African regulations.
  • Working from the BOM, ensuring that production orders for the workshop are generated.
  • Forecast the manufacturing/assembly hours in conjunction with operators.
  • Participate in quotation/tender processes.
  • Provide technical guidance to the workshop team during the manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Monitor schedules and ensure implementation accordingly.
  • Ensure SAP system is updated with relevant production information.
  • Report problems and possible delays to relevant parties.
  • Maximise asset and resource optimization to ensure that production targets and quality standards are met.
  • Prepare workshop forecast for budget meetings
  • Ensure products and services meet customer satisfaction.
  • Compile weekly KPI monitoring.
