Professional Accountant

SUMMARY:
Professional services group are seeking an experienced Professional Accountant in Hilton to manage the company’s accounting functions with accuracy and integrity, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, preparing financial reports, and contributing to the financial health of the organization.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate financial data
• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
• Complete and submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns in compliance with SARS
• Process and review journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
• Oversee fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Assist with cash flow management and treasury functions
• Coordinate year-end audits and liaise with external auditors
• Maintain compliance with all relevant accounting standards (IFRS/GRAP)
• Provide financial analysis and support strategic decision-making
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls and systems
• Supervise or mentor junior accounting staff (if applicable)

Minimum Requirements:

• BCom Degree in Accounting or Financial Management (essential)
• Registered with a professional body (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA – AGA(SA), or CIMA)

• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Proven experience preparing full sets of accounts
• Experience with financial systems (e.g., Pastel, Sage, Xero, or SAP)

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax, and regulatory frameworks
• Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills
• Competence in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

• High attention to detail and strong analytical ability

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
• Problem-solving mindset with strong business acumen
