Professional Nurse

SUMMARY:
We are seeking skilled and compassionate Clinical Trained Professional Nurses (PNs) to deliver high-quality nursing care in accordance with professional and legal standards. The ideal candidate will have advanced clinical training and experience in a specialized unit such as ICU, High Care, Theatre, Emergency, or Maternity

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care & Clinical Duties

• Provide holistic and patient-centered care based on assessment and prescribed treatment plans.
• Administer medication and treatments accurately and timeously.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs, progress, and responses to treatment.

2. Clinical Specialization

• Apply advanced clinical skills in areas such as:
  
  • Intensive Care (ICU)
  • High Care
  • Operating Theatre (Scrub, Circulating, Recovery)
  • Emergency/Casualty
  • Maternity/Labour Ward

3. Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in line with facility and legal standards.
• Adhere to hospital protocols, SANC guidelines, and infection control standards.

4. Team Collaboration

• Work closely with doctors, allied health professionals, and fellow nurses.
• Participate in ward rounds, handovers, and team briefings.

5. Training & Mentoring

• Guide and mentor junior nursing staff or student nurses.
• Participate in in-service training and continuous professional development.

Minimum Requirements:

• Registered Professional Nurse (PN) with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Post-basic / additional clinical qualification in at least one specialized unit:
  
  • ICU / High Care / Theatre / Emergency / Maternity
• 2–3 years post-qualification clinical experience in a relevant specialized unit
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) is advantageous
• Proven ability to work under pressure in high-acuity settings
