Professional Nurse Trainer (Oncology) 3 Months Contract

Main purpose of the job:

• To facilitate training and learning

Location:

• Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital

Key performance areas:

• Plan lessons for learners and participants as per the curriculum
• Facilitate training
• Conduct formative assessments for learners and support learners throughout the learning process
• Accompany learners for experiential learning
• Conduct summative assessments of learners
• Keep training records
• Submit training report
• Provide operational guidance and leadership to staff in the field of Oncology Nursing

Required minimum education and training:

• Diploma in General Nursing or
• Diploma in Oncology Nursing Science or
• Diploma in Nursing Education
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)

Required minimum work experience

• Minimum 2 year’s Oncology Nursing Experience

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

• Have knowledge and understanding of protocols, procedures, and standards within the area of nursing
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment
• Good administrative skills
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office
• The ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
