Professor/ Associate Professor :EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY (Ref: 2022)

SUMMARY:

The University of Fort Hare is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced candidates for the post of Professor / Associate Professor in Educational Psychology in the Faculty of Education 

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements

• Doctoral degree in Education Psychology or related discipline (e.g. Inclusive Education)
• At least 7 years’ experience for a Professor / 5 years’ experience for an Associate Professor in higher education;
• Extensive teaching and research experience in Education Psychology or related discipline;
• Track record of accredited national and international research publications commensurate with academic rank level of a Professor or Associate Professor;
• Extensive postgraduate supervision experience including successful doctoral supervision;
• Evidence of successful fundraising for research
• Evidence of academic leadership and/or mentoring of less experienced researchers

• Evidence of professional and academic standing in the field of specialisation
• Recognition as a leading scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g. NRF rating, international keynote/ plenaries);

• Evidence of strong community engagement integrated with teaching, learning and research.

Duties

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate educational psychology or related teacher education courses;
• Supervise Masters and Doctoral students;
• Undertake publishable academic research;
• Provide leadership in curriculum review and development
• Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research;
• Perform academic leadership and related administrative duties
• Secure external research grants and establish programs.
